When the warm weather lands the wife has her blinds drawn and blows out her bedroom with air conditioning. She snuggles under the covers at night and dreams happily about roasting in her panties with sweat pouring as a little girl in a three-floor walkup during the 1950s on 146th Street in Flushing, Queens. There was no air conditioning then and heat rises and her apartment was up top. She was jammed into a small room with her younger brother and her two kid sisters. And there were bunkbeds. Oh the heat and sweat of July and August!

Fast forward half a century. The bride goes to work in the morning and understands that the two younger cats enjoy her bedroom windows as a perch. She also knows that some cats like to jump into her bed and sleep with her at night.

What does that miserable woman do?

She leaves her bedroom door open at night now just enough for a cat to slide by whether going in or out of the air conditioned "bunkhouse". Before driving to Manhattan in the morning she hoists the blinds and windows and lets the cats perch upon stands she has built for them. I'm telling you - I've been thinking about calling the ASPCA about her. I'm not happy about the way she keeps buying them food and treats and toys either.

That's the tomcat Trouble on the sill while his sister Shiloh (Sweet Babycakes) checks out what's happening from the bride's bed.

Ah!!! It is nice that the cats have several viewing windows around your house.

Gives them variety and "territories" to prowl! Dogs are attached to their owners. Cats to their territory!

Shiloh looks like a "little princess"

Nobody goes to bed at night at my house without checking up on the cats. Most of the time the cats are laid out like happy troopers.

BUT...

The big problem is when a cat or two decides to lay out somewhere to be alone.

You may be in your house for 33 years like I am but you're not finding the cat.

You can walk around with the best flashlight in the world and a great pokey stick but you're not going to find the cat.

Ha! Ha!

So true!

Cats are like "magicians" when they want to disappear.
