OK, so I haven't vacuumed the stairs to the man cave over the weekend or swept the landing. The litterbox is immaculate however. Just cut me some slack as I took a shower today and hoisted the flag over my property this morning. I have the rest of my life to sweep and dust.

The tomcat will nap on the stairs at times while his human flunky steps over him. He might wake up to see who I am but the head goes back down while you do two stairs to get by him. If you stop to pet him he will make a strange cat noise, stretch a bit, and then go back to his business which is sleeping. He will never have opened his eyes..



Just off to the right of the top of the landing we find the tomcat Trouble's mother Mister Mittens and his sister Shiloh hunting like wildcats for sleep on the old Castro convertible. For some reason the cats like air conditioning and a good place to lie down while the humans are in a tizzy to make sure the house is loaded up with cat food, cat toys, and cat litter.

I wasn't there an old song..."Working Hard for the Man"? In your case "Working Hard for the Mittens' Family" while they doze in the AC! .

Wooley, my bride of 38 years was in great pain when she realized that the huge tomcat Trouble was having trouble fitting into a cat bed when he decided to crash into one of them.

A good woman would have shot the cat and been done with the problem but not my girl.

She bought him a large dog bed and the first time he got into it he closed his eyes and warbled at the ceiling with joy just before flopping into it for a snooze.

If I had half the money the wife spends on the cats I'd be going to the ten-dollar window every day at Belmont with girls 45 years younger than me.

On a serious note, there are three cats here having a good life when by all chance they would have been in great peril out in the street.

I have to say that Shiloh looks like she is "filling out" long-wise. Look at the picture stretched out on the Castro with Mom.

And Mr Mittens looks like her weight has stabilized too.
