It's not unusual to have some kind of beetle or other type of bug critter with a hundred legs walking around the house during the summer months and just like the great lion prides of Africa, the American domestic short hair cat will often hunt as a team. From top to bottom that's Mister Mittens, her daughter Shiloh, and her son Trouble.

The momcat stands away as her son and daughter go in for the kill.

The bug is smart and fast and makes a miraculous escape while the two killer cats regroup and plan another attack.

Did they  "get their man"?

BTW...is that plastic container in the background filled with cat toys?

Oh, yeah. Those are cat toys. On either side of them are scratching boards and the thing on the far left is a "cat nip mat". There's nothing quite like stepping on a plastic ball with a bell inside it on some dark stairs. You can hear the bell tinkling in the flying ball in the moment before you crash in a heap on you back and continue your journey down the stairs on your ass.

The fate of the bug is unknown but I found a clawed-up centipede on the kitchen floor a few days ago.
