Jacked trained ALYSHEBA for the only Derby I was ever at to see live in 1987. The horse stumbled down the lane and still got up to beat BET TWICE for $18.80. I had some fifty tickets on him and was driving a brand new Ford Aerostar that day. Hey, the horse won the Blue Grass before the DQ and was peaking for a monster effort.
Being a young 39, the new mini-van and the fifty window may be old memories now but they're good ones. The huge chalk DEMONS BEGONE bled and did not finish.
Amazingly ALYSHEBA and BET TWICE finished the Preakness One/Two again to pay a $43.60 exacta.
I would prefer to not mention the '87 Belmont Stakes but I have a beautiful story about it.
