I took a chance with a longshot, not knowing if the opening race would play to speed or closers. I was also determined not go whole hog on anything Espinoza was riding, though really should have waited for Mesa Girl to make the transition to grass.
Full N Sassy was a legitimate favorite and Luzzi has been riding so well of late that he has shed his jinx status. However, the victor ran like a textbook Dutrow winner always does: an extra retro-rocket kicking in when challenged in the stretch.
I suppose the Dutrow/Rudy double was the logical way to go....short return and it's reflected in the DD payouts + Rudy opening up 1-9 in Race 2, though I'm not so certain he's a lock in that short field.
The usual suspects among trainers adorn the entire card; they either force you to spread and invest more money than you'd like, or just abandon the card altogether.
