The feisty orange kitten was trapped and then we hit a home run when the grizzled tom Sad Face showed up and got caught. If a surrogate mother is available at the cat rescue we may have Catty Patty's two kittens scooped up later today. In the meantime a huge drop trap has been left so that I can lay out food under it all day and maybe catch a few in one fell swoop on Tuesday morning. In the picture it is interesting to see that the black Tuxedo and Bristol will not get into the food I just laid out despite being hungry. Tuxedo is an eye witness to some trappings and Bristol was trapped last week. Bristol was released because she showed signs that she was nursing.

And early on Tuesday morning, Tuxedo and Catty Patty were caught along with a kitten.

Yeah, he's coming back. This evening we finally caught Bristol and the last two of the April kittens.

And on Wednesday we're trying for the last kitten and Garfield. Garfield was born here two years ago but has moved to a new territory. He eats here a lot but doesn't live here now. And he's been showing some damage from street fights. Hungry cats are the easiest to trap so I haven't had any cat food laid out since Sunday. This morning I brought food out for the already TNR'ed Ginger, the only cat that was outside. She was very hungry and was crying when I brought her out a platter of Friskies.
Barbara from cattrapper.org has spoken with some of my neighbors and they're OK with what we're doing but one woman was concerned about her Maine coon cat that roams the streets. I've only seen that hairy beast here once for a meal and that was about a year ago. That chubby beast eats well at home.
I expect some of my regulars to be coming back this week from their surgeries.

And just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday we trapped the hungry Garfield. Every one of my adult "regulars" has now been trapped for neutering.
I have learned this morning: Sad Face has been called the "most mellow and gentle old street tom" that the vet people who are treating him have ever seen but I knew that. He'll be back by Friday. Tuxedo is catching care for some recent fight damage and all the females and kittens are doing well. Some of the kittens will be placed with Last Chance Rescue (no-kill) for adoption and some may be returned.

Update: Tuxedo and Sad Face are under vet care beyond the neutering and won't be back until Monday. Catty Patty is due back on Thursday.
And I can go back outside to finish the deck and look forward to Belmont Day.

Thank you for the update.
I've been concerned about Sad Face as well as Tuxedo who I recognize since he was a kitten. Isn't Emily his Mom?

Yes. Emily was Tuxedo's Mom. Catty Patty's coming back later this morning (Thursday). I'm writing this at 5:44 a.m. Guess what festive feral famished female feline was all over me in bed at 5 a.m. for her breakfast?
